BCSP starts work on the next CHST outline

BCSP has scheduled a three-day CHST job and task analysis panel for December 7 to 9, 2026, the step that drafts a new exam blueprint. No new outline or date has been announced, so CHST5 stays in effect.

What a job and task analysis panel does

BCSP describes it as "a three (3)-day panel activity for defining the exam and identifying domains, tasks, and knowledge and skill statements that will be used to create the examination blueprint draft." In other words, it decides what the next CHST outline will cover. Item writing and a passing-score study follow before a new exam goes live.

How long until a new outline?

BCSP hasn't said. For the last three outlines, the time from the blueprint document's date to the day it took effect was about 15 months for ASP11 and CSP11 and about 28 months for CHST5. Counting from this panel, that suggests roughly early 2028 to early 2029. That is our estimate, not BCSP's.

What to do now

If your CHST exam is in the next year, study CHST5. Nothing changes for you.
When BCSP publishes a new outline and date, we'll add it here, and anyone whose exam date falls after the switch will practice against the new outline.
Your exam date decides which outline you practice, so keep it current on your plan.
