Exposure assessment and storage capacity
ASP video lesson, 6:12. ASP Domain 1: Mathematical Calculations
Compute an 8-hour TWA from sampling periods, check a mixture's Em against unity, and size secondary containment at 10% of total volume or the largest container, whichever is greater.
Included with every ASP pass, with captions, chapters and the full transcript. Every rule and number is cited on screen to its primary source.
What this lesson covers
In this lesson, you'll learn to: compute an 8-hour TWA from sampling periods, calculate a mixture's Em and compare it to unity, size secondary containment using the 10 percent rule, and avoid the common exam traps in all three. First, the 8-hour exposure. The OSHA rule computes cumulative exposure for a shift with one formula. E equals concentration times time for each period, added up, divided by 8.
