Not yet: the exam still tests the prior rule

CHST5 questions on these hazards are built on OSHA's 1926 rules and references from 2021 or earlier. The 2026 editions are consensus practice, not new OSHA law.

Judged against CHST5, the outline in effect on October 16, 2026.

What ASSP says changed

  • A10.4 Personnel hoists and employee elevators: a dedicated section for rope-guided and non-guided worker hoists, and clearer responsibilities for inspection, training and record retention.
  • A10.11 Personnel nets: selection, installation, testing and use of safety nets where guardrails or fall arrest aren't practical.
  • A10.23 Drilled shafts: site-specific safety planning, restricted access zones and equipment safeguards.
  • A10.26 Emergency procedures for construction sites: planning for fires, structural collapse, hazardous material spills and medical emergencies.
  • A10.37 Debris nets: design, installation, testing and use of nets that catch falling tools and materials.

ANSI also lists A10.43-2026, Confined Spaces in Construction and Demolition Operations, which replaced the 2016 edition.

For the exam

CHST questions on these hazards cite OSHA's construction rules, such as 1926 Subpart AA for confined spaces and 1926.502 for safety nets.
